Courses
The GRiT is an adventure gravel ride. The courses will be on asphalt, dirt/gravel roads, with some double track sections. These courses are long and difficult, but doable by anyone with a spirit of adventure and some stamina. The Maximus is… well… a brute.
The descents can be tricky at high speed. Keep your speed in check and all will be well. We encourage you to pre-ride. The courses are published. Get out there and ride them.
We have four courses to choose from this year:
- Maximus – Latin for “greatest,” to signify the ultimate challenge
- 64 miles
- 7,000 feet of climbing
- Fortis – Latin for “strength” – this course is no gimme.
- 48 miles
- 4,700 feet of climbing
- Velox – Latin for speed and agility.
- 29 miles
- 2,400 feet of climbing
- Primus – Latin for first – a great course for first timers.
- 20 miles
- 1,400 feet of climbing
There will be a neutral roll-out of approximately 2 miles.

Aid Stations
We have two aid stations. Our aid stations will put a smile on your face and refuel you in your lowest moments of the ride.
The primary aid station (Aid1) is at the intersection of NW Forest roads 5480 and 5483, (right near where NW-5480 crosses the Palouse to Cascades trail.) Velox, Fortis & Maximus riders will pass Aid1 twice. Primus riders won’t pass either aid station.
The second aid station (Aid2) is at mile 40 of the Fortis course and miles 40 and 55 of the Maximus course.
At the aid stations, we will have:
- Food, water, lots of other goodies
- First Aid & a medic
- Neutral mechanic
- Smiles & hugs
Drop Bags
Riders are welcome to leave a drop bag at registration—we’ll deliver it to the aid stations for you! Just make sure your bag is fully enclosed, clearly labeled with your name and which Aid Station it is meant for and ready to go before you roll out. We will return the bags to the start/finish area. Bags going to Aid2 will be picked up at the end of the day by our course sweep crew, so will not be back at the start/finish until 4pm or so. If you plan to drop a bag for Aid 2, you should either use a disposable bag or plan to hang out until 4pm or 5pm.
Lodging
There are not an abundant number of lodging options at Snoqualmie Pass itself, but plenty of places to stay within a 30 minute drive — and this year, you can camp right at the venue.
- Camp at Crystal Springs Sno-Park — NEW for 2026! We’ve secured Forest Service approval to camp at the venue. Roll in the night before, wake up at the start line, and make a full weekend of it. $25 per vehicle/site. Purchase your camping permit here.
- VanLife & RVs — This one’s for you. You’ve been waiting for an event where you can park your rig at the venue, sleep in your van, and roll to the start line in your socks. This is it.
- AirBNB — There are a few options at Snoqualmie Pass itself. If you want to stay at the pass, this is your best bet for traditional lodging.
- Cle Elum or North Bend hotels — Numerous hotel options available either west or east of the pass.
Camping at Crystal Springs Sno-Park
Crystal Springs is a beautiful venue, surrounded by trees and mountain peaks, and camping there will be a treat. The area we have is a gravel lot with no grass, so plan on sleeping in a vehicle or bringing a very thick pad.
- $25 per vehicle. Purchase here. Bring your email receipt as proof.
- Arrive Friday after 4:00 pm. The lot isn’t available for overnight camping before then.
- Pack it in, pack it out. Leave your spot cleaner than you found it — the Forest Service is watching, and we want to do this again next year.
- Self-contained only. No hookups available. Grey water must be contained and packed out.
- Pets welcome, messes not. Clean up after your dog.
- Spots are first-come, first-served within the designated camping area. We can’t guarantee specific spots or proximity to the start line.

Other Details you can mostly ignore
Helmets: Wear a helmet.
Sanctioning: Our event is not USA Cycling sanctioned. No license necessary!
Doping: We don’t check but you are not welcome to an Off Camber event if you are doping or using some illegal substance to help you go faster. The GRiT is for fun and healthy exercise. We’ll ban you from all Off Camber Productions races if you are caught doping at any other event.
Pre-riding: We encourage you to pre-ride the course!
Numbers & Chips: We aren’t talking Doritos, we are talking about timing chips. Attach the chip to your helmet. You can pick up your timing chip at packet pickup. We will be assigning chips in advance and handing these out in your packet. Please remove any existing chips/tubes from your helmet. And do not bring your own chip/tube if you have one. We’ll be collecting the chips used for the ride after you cross the finish line. We’ll provide rubber bands and zip ties. Number plates should be attached to the front of your handlebars.
Timing: The GRiT is a mass start event, meaning that the timing starts when the starter sends your wave off. When you cross the finish line, your time is recorded.
Results: Results are available on Webscorer and are posted almost immediately after you cross the finish. Yes. It’s like magic. Download the Webscorer app for the easiest access.
Contested Results: If you believe the results on Webscorer are incorrect please report to the start/finish line within one hour of the completion of your race and talk to one of us.
