Course Details
We are offering 4 distances for the GRiT. All of these course are challenging and will likely take you to places you haven’t ridden before.
- Maximus – Latin for “greatest,” to signify the ultimate challenge
- 60 miles
- 6,600 feet of climbing
- Fortis – Latin for “strength” – this course is no gimme.
- 44 miles
- 4,300 feet of climbing
- Velox – Latin for speed and agility.
- 25 miles
- 2,000 feet of climbing
- Primus – Latin for first – a great first gravel ride.
- 20 miles
- 1,400 feet of climbing
Rider Details
- Riders are expected to provide their own navigation for the GRiT.
- Courses will be marked, but course markings should be considered a secondary or backup navigation
- If you do not have a dedicated cycling computer/GPS device that has navigation capability, we recommend that you download and install the a GPS app on your phone along with your route.
- We recommend Ride with GPS–its free app and is what we use to create these routes.
Primus
Primus is new this year and is a great course for first time gravel riders.
Velox
Velox is a tough but approachable course covering about 25 miles and 2000′ of climbing.
Fortis
Fortis adds another climbing loop to bump the distance to 44 miles and 4300′ of climbing
Maximus
Maximus builds on Fortis by adding the very difficult Kachess Ridge loop bringing the distance to 60 miles and the vertical to 6600′
Important Course notes
- All the courses will start and finish at the Crystal Spring snow park at exit 62 on I-90
- All the roads are open to traffic including cars, trucks, side-by-sides, and so on. You must obey all rules of the road at all times! Failure to do so might results in serious injury – we can’t keep everything safe for you so be smart and ride safely.
- Expect rough descents and keep your speed under control at all time
- You will ride P2C trail along the lake. Please be aware of and respectful to other trail users.
- This is adventure, not champagne, gravel racing to expect rough roads.
